   키무냐 장관은 "케냐는 아프리카 대륙에서 교통사고가 가장 빈번히 발생하는 국가 중 하나"라며 "서유럽에서는 한해에 인구 10만명 당 11명이 교통사고로 사망하는 데 반해 아프리카에서는 32명이 사망하고 있으며, 이중 85%가 사람들의 잘못으로 발생한다"고 설명했다.

   현재 전 세계적으로 한해 130만명이 교통사고로 사망하고 있으며, 부상자는 5천만명에 이르고 있다.
