The Hyundai Group is expected to be selected as an initial negotiator in the bid to purchase the Hyundai Engineering and Construction Co., under court receivership due to financial problem, as it defeated Hyundai Automotive Group by 500 billion won. Industry sources said Hyundai Group proposed 4.8 trillion won in its bid to buy the contractor. Hyundai Automotive Group has also been confirmed to offer 4.3 trillion won, a difference of 500 billion won from Hyundai Group’s offering price. The source close to the bidding of Hyundai Construction said, “The Hyundai Group has suggested 500 billion won more than that by the automotive group in the contest.” 현대그룹, 현대건설 입찰가 4조8000억원 제시 현대그룹이 5000억원 차이로 현대자동차그룹을 따돌리고 현대건설 우선협상대상자로 선정될 전망이다. 16일 관련 업계에 따르면 현대그룹은 현대건설 입찰 가격으로 4조8000억원대를 제시했다. 현대차그룹은 4조3000억원대를 써낸 것으로 확인됐다. 이번 현대건설 인수전에 정통한 한 소식통은 이날 "현대그룹이 현대차그룹보다 5000억원 더 높은 인수 가격을 제시했다"고 밝혔다.
