(방콕=연합뉴스) 현영복 특파원 = 태국 언론들은 19일 2010 광저우 아시안게임에서 사리타 퐁스리(19, 카셋삿 대학 1학년) 선수가 태권도 종목에서 첫 금메달을 획득했다고 대서특필했다.

   태국 언론들은 사리타 선수가 아시안 게임 개막 이후 6일 동안 기다려왔던 태국 국민의 `금메달 갈증'을 해소했다면서 경기 과정을 상세히 보도했다.

   사리타는 18일 오후 중국 광저우 광둥 체육관에서 열린 53㎏급 결승전에 출전, 베트남 응우엔 티 호아이 투를 극적으로 물리치고 금메달을 획득했다.

   사리타는 결승전에서 3라운드까지 3-1로 뒤졌으나 마지막 라운드에서 눈에 상처를 입은 악조건 속에서도 뒤돌려차기로 3점을 얻어 4-3으로 역전승을 거뒀다. 태국이 아시안게임 태권도 종목에서 금메달을 딴 것은 이번이 처음이다.
