Thailand, 6.7 percent growth rate for Q3

태국, 올해 3분기 경제성장률 6.7%

(방콕=연합뉴스) 현영복 특파원 = 태국은 바트화 강세와 대규모 홍수 등의 영향으로 올해 3분기 경제성장률이 6.7% 수준에 그쳤다고 현지 언론들이 22일 보도했다.

   태국 경제사회개발위원회(NESDB)는 올해 1분기와 2분기에는 작년 동기에 비해 각각 12.0%, 9.1%의 높은 경제성장률을 기록했으나 3분기에는 경제성장세가 다소 둔화됐다고 밝혔다.

   NESDB는 "바트화 강세와 대규모 홍수로 인해 3분기 국내총생산(GDP)이 지난 2분기 대비 0.2% 정도 감소했다"면서 "올해 1∼9월 전체 경제성장률은 9.3%를 기록했다"고 말했다.

   태국 바트화는 올해들어 외국인 자금 유입 등으로 11% 가량 절상됐고 지난달 10일부터 이달초까지 지속된 홍수로 인해 233명이 숨지는 등 큰 피해가 발생했다.

   NESDB는 올해 4분기에도 경제성장률이 둔화될 것으로 예상되고 있으며 올해 전체로는 7.9%의 경제성장률이 예상되고 있다고 밝혔다.

   NESDB는 "바트화 강세와 원유가 상승 등이 앞으로의 경제 성장에 주요 변수로 작용할 것"이라며 "내년에는 3.5∼4.5% 수준의 경제성장률이 예상된다"고 덧붙였다.
