Titanic, soon be reborn in 3D  Soon all hidden secrets of Titanic will be revealed. Last summer, a research team of 30 members have run a scrutiny over the sunken Titanic and made a great accomplishment. It was the most complete and synthetic investigation ever done on the ship so far. Previous to this ambitious project, several other research teams and the movie “Titanic” production team had made similar attempts, but they ended up gaining only 60% of the entire data. The experts of submersible robot from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and archeologists from other institutions cooperated for the project and Premiere Exhibitions, company owns the salvage of Titanic, invested millions of dollars. The investigation continued for several weeks at the spot, 640km south of Newfoundland, where the ship had sunk. The team collected the data for 24 hours a day with three submersible robots. They also used two freewheeling AUVs (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) in a shape of torpedo along with a remotely controlled AUV to tape a 3D video and take more than hundred thousand pictures of the wreckage spread out over the sea area of 10.36 km². Over 200TB size data collected through the video and the pictures will be used to build a 3D model of the ship in the condition at the time of sinking, and the work is expected to take about a year.
