Briton wins World Miss University title

A British student, who is an honors graduate, a champion kick-boxer, a model, an actress, and an aid worker, has become the first in Britain to win the World Miss University title. Katie Farr, 23, from Leeds, who beat 40 other brainy beauties to the title, is said to have dazzled the judges with her high intellect and kickboxing moves rather than her amazing figure. Choi Jung-hwa, 24, a graduate school student of Yonsei University majoring in the international relations, was awarded the third prize. Farr has an IQ of 140 and is the first ever contestant from Britain to take home the crown since the competition was launched in 1986. Last year, she won the title of Miss Leeds and was one of the top 20 finalists for the Miss England competition. Earlier this month, she jetted out to Seoul, in South Korea, where the World Miss University competition took place over the course of a two-week assessment. The contestants had to learn how to produce traditional cuisine, feed the homeless, deliver sacks of coal to poor Koreans and show their debating skills in an international peace forum. "The result wasn't just based on the final, there were people following us throughout the whole two weeks, watching how we did and what questions we asked," the Daily Mail quoted her as saying. "We had some ¬interesting debates, it was intellectually engaging and not cheesy at all.
