미성년 여성과 매춘 의혹 수사를 받고 있는 실비오 베를루스코니 이탈리아 총리가 변호인을 통해 검찰의 소환 통보에 응하지 않겠다고 밝혔다.

22일 이탈리아 안사(ANSA)통신 등 외신에 따르면 베를루스코니 총리의 변호인단은 밀라노 검찰에 서한을 보내 “밀라노 검찰은 이번 사건에 대한 관할권이 없다”며 “총리는 검찰 수사팀을 만나지 않을 것”이라는 입장을 전달했다.

밀라노 검찰은 베를루스코니 총리에게 오는 21일부터 23일 사이에 의혹 사실 확인을 위한 면담을 요청했었다.

베를루스코니 총리는 앞서 “검찰의 수사는 나를 정치무대에서 제거하려는 좌편향 사법부의 모략”이라며 “시민에 의해 선출된 총리를 흔드는 검사들은 처벌받아야 한다”고 주장했다.

베를루스코니 총리는 지난해 2월부터 5월 사이에 당시 17세로 미성년자였던 모로코 출신 벨리댄서 카리마 엘 마루그(일명 루비)에게 대가를 주고 성관계를 가진 혐의를 받고 있으나, 의혹을 전면 부인하고 있다.

루비도 최근 베를루스코니 총리가 소유한 TV 채널과의 인터뷰에서 “그는 내 몸에 손가락 하나도 대지 않았다”며 “나는 그를 한 인간으로서, 아무 대가 없이 나를 도와준 사람으로서 존경한다”고 의혹을 부인했다.

한편 영국의 타블로이드 신문인 ‘더선’은 이날 베를루스코니 총리가 주최한 악명높은 섹스파티인 일명 ‘붕가붕가(Bunga Bungaㆍ성행위를 뜻하는 은어)’파티에 참석한 것으로 알려진 ‘베를루스코니의 여자들’ 11명의 사진을 공개했다. 

‘더선’이 공개한 사진에는 10대 벨리댄서 루비를 비롯한 미스 토리노 출신의 로베르타 보나시아, 미모의 방송사 쇼걸 출신으로 베를루스코니 총리의 치위생사를 거쳐 집권당 의원으로 변신한 니콜 미네티, 배우 카밀라 페란티 등이 포함됐다. 

베를루스코니 총리는 매춘의혹에 대해 “내가 그렇게 많은 여성들과 관계를 했다니 내가 수퍼맨이냐”고 일축했다.
