아낌없이 현찰을 지급하는 현금지급기, 현대인들이 누구나 사용하는 기기다. 이 꿈의 기계 앞에서는 사연도 많고 이상한 일도 많이 일어난다. 해외 네티즌들의 눈길을 끄는 사진 몇 장을 소개 한다.

한 걸인(?)은 박스를 갖다 놓고 "여기다 입금하세요"라고 적어 놓았다. 속을 사람이 있을까. 동냥아치의 간절한 심경과 유머 감각이 빛난다는 평가. 한편 어린이가 어린이의 등에 올라 돈을 뽑으려 시도하는 상황도 재미있다. 버튼만 누르면 돈이 나오는 줄 알고 있는 보다.

한 할아버지는 비밀번호 노출을 필사적으로 저지하고 있다. 악당을 물리친 슈퍼맨도 현금이 필요한다. 새옷을 사야 하는 것이다. 또 기계가 너무 낮게 설치되어 있어도 돈이 필요한 이들은 어쩔 수 없이 순응해야 한다.

해외 네티즌 사이에서 뜨거운 화제와 논란을 일으키고 있는 사진이다. 고래로 보이는 동물을 아래에서 촬영했는데, 몸통 속에 사람 다리가 숨겨져 있는 것처럼 보인다. 네티즌들은 이 동물이 벨루가 고래이며 옛 뱃사람들이 '인어'로 착각 할 만 했다고 평가한다.

동화와 신화 속에 등장하는 인어는 사람을 닮은 고래 등 해양 동물을 보고 착각한 사람들의 목격담이 와전된 것이라는 설이 있다. 그리고 그런 착각을 일으켰을 유력한 용의자(?) 중 하나가 벨루가 고래다.

'고래의 다리 사진'의 조작 혐의를 제기하는 네티즌도 있는데 이런 시각은 소수다. 촬영자는 2008년 물 위를 내다보는 벨루가 고래를 촬영한 것이라고 설명한다. 수년 전 사진이 뒤늦게 발굴되어 큰 화제를 일으키고 있는 케이스다.

The State of Queensland has been affected by floods since October last year. Netizens have responded warmly to the images of the baby bats, observing that it is not only humans who have been hurt by the floods. Many have commented that the baby bats are ‘cute.’ The surviving bats will be bottle-fed and kept suspended either from clotheslines or in incubators for another four weeks before they are ready to fly again.
