초.중.고.대학 팀 45개팀 창단 추진

(서울=연합뉴스) 천병혁 기자 = 정부가 여자축구 활성화를 위해 전폭적인 지원에 나선다.

   문화체육관광부는 29일 종로구 와룡동 사옥에서 2013년까지 185억원을 지원해 초ㆍ중ㆍ고ㆍ대학에 여자축구 45개 팀 창단을 유도하는 `여자축구 활성화 지원 종합계획'을 발표했다.

   지원 내역을 살펴보면 기존 여자축구 팀 운영비 지원으로 연간 20억원씩 총 60억원을 지급하고 국민체육진흥공단이 여자축구팀을 창단해 3년간 총 90억원을 투자한다.

   또 3년간 45개 팀 창단 지원금으로 34억원을 책정했으며 지난 9월 트리니다드 토바고 U17여자축구 월드컵에서 우승한 대표팀 포상금으로 1억1천85만원을 지급할 예정이다.

   정부는 매년 팀을 창단하는 ▲5개 초등학교와 5개 중학교에 각 3천만원씩 3년 지원 ▲3개 고등학교에 4천만원씩 3년 지원 ▲2개 대학에 2년간 2억 지원 등 향후 3년간 45개 여자축구팀 창단을 유도해 현재 학교팀을 57개에서 102개로 대폭 늘린다는 방침이다.

   실업팀으로는 국민체육진흥공단 팀 뿐 아니라 스포츠토토에서도 조만간 팀을 창단할 예정이다.

   또 대한축구협회와 한국프로축구연맹도 저변 확대를 위해 매년 10억원씩 여자축구에 지원하기로 했다.

   축구협회의 지원 사업은 K리그와 WK리그 산하 유소녀 클럽팀 운영과 지도자 처우 개선, 우수 선수 및 지도자 해외연수 등이다.

   문화부 박선규 차관은 "여자축구는 주위의 무관심속에도 U-20 여자월드컵 3위, U-17 여자월드컵 우승 등 성장 가능성이 매우 높은 종목임이 입증됐지만 주변 여건이 매우 열악했다"고 밝힌 뒤 "선수 수급 곤란과 어려운 경제 여건으로 인해 팀 해체 및 창단 기피, 대학 및 실업팀 부족 등 고질적인 문제들을 해소해 여자축구의 지속적인 성장과 발전이 이뤄지길 기원한다"고 설명했다.

   박선규 차관은 또 "다음 달 2일 스위스 취리히에서 2022년 남자월드컵 개최지가 결정되는데 FIFA에서도 (유치 후보국가들에게) 많은 관심을 갖고 있다. 이번 발표가 작으나마 (월드컵 유치에) 도움이 됐으면 좋겠다"고 덧붙였다.
